Are you looking to help out in your community?
The City Centre Food Coop is looking for
volunteers to help work the CHEP Community Fresh Food Markets! The goal of these markets is to improve access to affordable healthy
fruit and vegetables for residents who are under-served by the retail
grocery sector. The Market’s focus is to provide access to low-income residents, however everyone is welcome!
Where: Saskatoon Community Service Village Lobby
located at 506 25th Street East.
What: Responsibilities include helping to sell produce,
stock produce, and possibly set up or take down the
Market. Volunteers will always work in pairs of two or
more, and can help with Market promotion if they choose.
Who: The City Centre Food Coop’s mission is to provide
affordable fresh food to Saskatoon’s city centre and surrounding neighbourhoods with the long-term goal of opening a community-owned grocery store in the future.
The fresh produce is provided by the local food security nonprofit CHEP
Good Food Inc., which works with children, families and communities to improve access to good food and promote food security.
