Block Party Toolkits: Building Communities Block by Block

We aim to promote a sense of community in City Park and one way to achieve this is to focus on connecting to each other block by block. We’ve developed Block Party Toolkits to encourage you to plan your own! Toolkits are available to anyone in the city who’d like to host a block party. Here’s some information:

Fall 2018 is just around the corner and we have some exciting things happening in September!  Mark your calendars:

Sept 1st – Deadline to Nominate a Neighbour that you think makes City Park great! Use  the online form https://goo.gl/forms/ESz8P7ppT6bLS6s02 by Sept 1st and we will celebrate them at our AGM.

Sept 5th – Fall Programs Registration Night – see our programs tab for details or see our Facebook event here

Sept 16th – Annual Potluck 5pm & AGM at 6pm in Wilson Park (details here)

Sept 22nd – Movie in the Park Round 2 – Free screening of the classic ‘Big’. Details to come shortly.

Programs Registration Night – March 27th @ 7 PM

Program registration night will be held in City Park Collegiate on March 27th at 7 PM. Th e following courses are being offered for the Spring session:

Monday – all levels yoga with Tonya 6-730 pm (Apr 9 – June 11) $75
Tuesday – Restorative Yoga with Tonya 6-7pm (April 10 – June 12)  **Tentative ** Tonya is yet to confirm $50
Wednesday – Family Badminton/Pickleball 7-8pm (April 11 – June 13) $5/person or $20/family
Wednesday – Mens Basketball 8-930pm April 11 – June 13 $50
Thursday – Family Dodgeball 6-7pm April 12 – June 14 $5/person or $20/family

City Offering School Break Camps April 3 – 5, 2018

The City has teamed with EB Sports Academy, Jade Roberts and the University of Saskatchewan 7’s Rugby team to offer active and accessible camps for youth aged 10-14 during the spring school break.

 

The camps are free and youth can register for multiple sessions:

 

  • Session 1: Tuesday April 3rd 9:00am – 12:00pm – Rugby
  • Session 2: Tuesday April 3rd 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Rugby
  • Session 3: Wednesday April 4th 9:00am – 12:00pm – Basketball
  • Session 4: Wednesday April 4th 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Basketball
  • Session 5: Thursday April 5th 9:00am – 12:00pm – Double Ball
  • Session 6: Thursday April 5th 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Floor Hockey

All activities will take place at the Cosmo Civic Centre, 3130 Laurier Drive.

There’s a new way to get around Saskatoon

Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Affinity Credit Union’s Campus building, 902 7th Avenue North, the Saskatchewan Environmental Society (SES), along with partners, will launch Saskatoon’s first 100% solar-powered electric vehicle as part of a car-sharing program. Renewable Rides is an innovative program that is adding 100% solar-powered electric vehicles to the Saskatoon CarShare Co-operative’s fleet of cars.

Who: The Saskatchewan Environmental Society, Affinity Credit Union, the Saskatoon CarShare Co-operative, the SES Solar Co-operative, Sun Country Highway, Saskatoon Light & Power, Saskatchewan Research Council, Exa Energy, Radiance Co-housing, and Wardell Gillis

What: The launch of Saskatoon’s first 100% solar-powered electric vehicle in a car-sharing program
